Site Hoardings Newcastle

Printed site hoardings, development boards and construction signage that turn building sites into advertising space โ€” designed, printed and installed in-house.

A construction hoarding is prime advertising space: metres of highly visible street frontage seen by every passer-by. We design, print and install site hoardings across Newcastle and the North East, from branded development hoardings for housebuilders to practical site boards, safety signage and scaffolding panels โ€” all produced in-house at our Blaydon workshop.

Our Site Hoarding Services

Development Hoardings

Full-perimeter printed hoardings for residential and commercial developments, with renders, branding and sales messaging that work the whole build.

Marketing Boards

"Coming soon" panels with artist impressions, developer branding and QR codes linking to sales suites and plot availability.

Scaffolding Branding

Printed panels and wraps that turn scaffolding into clean, branded frontage for refits, refurbishments and city-centre sites.

Health & Safety Boards

Mandatory signage sets printed to BS EN ISO 7010 symbols โ€” PPE reminders, site rules, pedestrian separation and emergency information.

Mesh Banners for Windy Sites

Wind-permeable printed mesh for exposed sites and long runs where solid panels would catch the weather.

Reusable Panel Systems

Modular printed panels that can be re-sited as the build progresses, protecting your print investment across phases.

Built for Construction Sites

Hoarding signage lives in the worst conditions a sign can face: grit, mud, plant traffic and weather on one side, and the site programme on the other. We print onto aluminium composite (Dibond) panels for long hoarding runs and premium developments โ€” rigid, wipeable and rated for years outdoors โ€” and onto treated marine ply where the programme needs a screw-on, replace-on-the-fly system. Every print is laminated with an anti-graffiti, anti-scuff layer so panels can be cleaned back to new.

Wind loading decides material and fixing spacing: solid panels are split into manageable bays with fixings specified for the site, and exposed corners and long runs often get printed mesh instead. Because panels are produced as a matched set from one artwork master, replacing a damaged section mid-build is a re-print, not a redesign.

For the practical side of the site, we also print the full health and safety signage set โ€” site entrance boards, PPE reminders and pedestrian routes โ€” so the whole site boundary looks considered, not piecemeal.

Marketing Hoardings That Sell the Scheme

For developers, hoardings are the first impression buyers get of a scheme. We lay out full-height renders, street-scene artwork and key messaging so the boundary sells the dream while the build catches up โ€” and we plan the design around plot handover dates so each panel stays accurate. QR codes, sales suite directions and contact details can all be built into the artwork.

Retail and commercial refits use the same trick on a smaller scale: a branded hoarding around works keeps the brand visible while the shop is closed, and a reopening date board turns downtime into anticipation. Talk to us early in the programme and the hoarding can be designed, printed and fitted the moment the fence goes up.

Planning and Permissions

Branded hoardings on construction sites are treated as advertisements in most North East authority areas, so advertisement consent may be needed alongside the site's existing permits โ€” particularly on prominent city-centre or conservation-area frontages. We flag what is likely to need consent at survey stage, prepare the artwork specifications councils ask for, and work to your programme so approvals do not hold up the fence going up.

Why Choose DE Signs

45+ Years Experience

Three generations of North East sign making โ€” we know what site managers and developers actually need from a hoarding.

In-House Printing

All hoarding panels are printed and laminated at our Blaydon workshop, with reprints of single panels available at short notice.

Free Site Surveys

We measure the run, check ground and fixings, and specify materials for the site's exposure โ€” at no cost.

Programme-Aware

We plan artwork, print and install dates around site programmes and handovers, so hoardings arrive when the fence does.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do site hoardings cost to print?

Hoardings are quoted per metre of run and by material: individual printed boards start in the same range as our Dibond boards (roughly ยฃ30-ยฃ120 each by size), with full development hoarding runs quoted as a set. Free site surveys and quotes available.

What materials do you use for site hoardings?

Long-run and premium hoardings use aluminium composite (Dibond) panels, rated for years outdoors; shorter programmes can use treated marine ply with laminated prints. Exposed sites can switch to wind-permeable printed mesh.

Do printed hoardings need advertisement consent?

Branded hoardings on construction sites are usually treated as advertisements, so consent may be needed โ€” especially on prominent or conservation-area frontages. We flag what applies at survey stage and prepare the artwork specifications councils ask for.

How long do hoarding panels last on a building site?

Laminated Dibond hoardings last the length of the build and beyond; marine ply systems are built for the programme with replaceable prints. All panels are anti-graffiti laminated so they wipe clean between site visits.

How quickly can hoarding panels be printed?

Large-format panels are typically ready in 3-5 working days from approved artwork, with faster turnaround possible for straight panels. Reprints of single damaged panels can usually be turned around at short notice.
