Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. Vinyl lettering is the workhorse of the sign world — clean, precise, durable, and remarkably cost-effective. At DE Signs North East, we've been cutting and applying vinyl lettering for businesses across Newcastle and the North East since 1978. From shop front windows to van doors, from office walls to site boards, our vinyl lettering delivers a professional look that punches well above its price tag.
Vinyl lettering is text and logos cut from solid-colour self-adhesive vinyl using a computer-controlled plotter. Unlike printed graphics, cut vinyl has no background — only the letters and shapes are applied to the surface, giving a crisp, painted-on appearance that looks premium and professional.
Available in virtually any colour, vinyl lettering can be applied to glass, metal, painted surfaces, vehicles, walls, and most smooth substrates. It's the go-to choice for businesses that want maximum visual impact at minimum cost.
Business name, opening hours, phone number, and services. Clean and professional without blocking the view through the glass.
Company name, contact details, and logos on van doors and sides. The most affordable way to brand a vehicle.
Reception areas, meeting rooms, and corridors. Motivational quotes, company values, and directional signage.
Contractor names, project information, and safety notices on construction site hoardings and temporary boards.
Frosted vinyl with cut lettering for privacy and branding on office partitions and glazed doors. Complies with building regulations.
Registration numbers, boat names, and business branding on marine and trailer applications using marine-grade vinyl.

Yes. Vinyl lettering can be removed using heat (a hairdryer or heat gun) and gentle peeling. Any adhesive residue can be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol. Removal won't damage most painted surfaces, though very old vinyl may leave a 'ghost' on vehicles.
We stock 40+ solid colours including standard colours, metallics (silver, gold, chrome), reflective, fluorescent, and frosted/etched vinyl. If you need a specific brand colour, we can match it closely from our range or use printed vinyl for exact Pantone matching.
Vinyl lettering adheres best to smooth, clean, non-porous surfaces — glass, metal, painted wood, and most plastics. Rough or porous surfaces like bare brick aren't suitable for direct vinyl application. We can advise on the best approach for your surface during a free site survey.
