We use 5mm or 10mm cast acrylic — the gold standard for 3D lettering. Cast acrylic offers superior colour saturation, UV stability (won't yellow), and clean laser-cut edges. Available in opal, white, black, metallic, and over 30 RAL colours.
Built-up letter returns are fabricated from 2mm aluminium or 1.5mm stainless steel. Returns are welded and ground smooth, then powder-coated to any RAL colour. Standard depths: 50mm, 80mm, 100mm, 150mm.
Interior letters are mounted with industrial-grade VHB foam tape or hidden pin fixings. Exterior letters use stainless steel standoff pins or ally brackets bolted to the fascia. We specify fixings based on sign size, weight, and mounting surface.
Illuminated letters use Samsung LED modules rated for 50,000+ hours. Face-lit letters use opal acrylic faces with LEDs behind. Halo-lit letters use solid metal faces with LEDs on the returns pointing backward. All wiring is concealed within the letter returns.
We produce scaled drawings showing letter sizes, depths, colours, and font options with a fixed-price quote.
Letters are laser-cut, fabricated, and assembled in our Gateshead workshop. Metal returns are welded and powder-coated.
Every letter is inspected, test-fitted, and (if illuminated) powered up for 24 hours to verify LED performance.
Our installers fit your letters on-site with precision alignment. All exterior fixings are weather-sealed.

We manufacture letters from 50mm (2 inches) up to 2 metres tall. Standard sizes for shopfronts are 200-600mm. Interior reception wall letters are typically 100-300mm. Built-up metal letters have standard depths of 50mm, 80mm, 100mm, and 150mm.
Yes. Acrylic and metal built-up letters are fully weatherproof and rated for exterior use. We use stainless steel fixings and weather-seal all mounting points. Metal letters are powder-coated for UV and corrosion resistance, giving 15+ years of outdoor service.
Yes. Acrylic is available in over 30 standard colours, and metal returns can be powder-coated to any RAL colour. For exact brand matching, we can order custom-cast acrylic in your specific Pantone or RAL reference. Allow an extra 5-7 days for custom colour matching.
Non-illumininated 3D letters on a shopfront usually do not require planning permission if they are within the permitted size limits. Illuminated letters or signs on listed buildings or in conservation areas will require consent. We handle planning applications as part of our service. We make 3D letters from acrylic (Perspex), stainless steel, aluminium, and PVC foam. Illuminated versions use acrylic faces with LED lighting inside a built-up metal return. Each material offers different aesthetics and price points.
Yes. Stainless steel and acrylic 3D letters are fully weatherproof for outdoor use. We use marine-grade adhesive and stainless steel fixings for exterior installations. LED-illuminated 3D letters are also rated for outdoor use.
We use a combination of structural adhesive and hidden pin fixings depending on the wall material. For brick and concrete, we use stainless steel pins. For render and cladding, we use heavy-duty adhesive. Every installation is assessed individually.
Yes. We can replicate any font, logo, or shape as 3D built-up letters. We work from vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) or can recreate your logo from a high-resolution image. Custom shapes and logos are our speciality.
