Dibond is the trade name for 3mm aluminium composite: two thin aluminium faces bonded to a polyethylene core. The result is a panel that is dead flat, genuinely weatherproof and light enough to mount anywhere โ which is why it has become the default material for quality shop signs, site boards and directional signage across the North East. We cut, print, fold and fit Dibond in-house at our Blaydon workshop.
Flat or folded Dibond panels for shopfronts โ printed in full colour or vinyl-faced, with edges that stay crisp for years.
The same composite folded into boxed-edge aluminium tray signs for fascias with built-in depth.
Long-run printed Dibond for site hoardings and site boards that survive mud, plant and weather.
Cut-to-shape or rectangular panels for car parks, business parks and estates โ UV-stable graphics that stay readable.
Full-colour digital print with protective laminate for photo-quality panels, menus boards and display walls.
Dibond cut into letters, logos and custom shapes on our in-house CNC router for a premium metal-look finish.
The aluminium faces give Dibond its rigidity: panels will not warp, bow or shrink over time, so a 2-metre fascia stays flat through summers, frosts and North Sea winds. The composite core keeps the panel light โ typically around half the weight of solid aluminium sheet โ so installations are faster and walls take less load.
Weather performance is where Dibond earns its keep. It is rust-proof, UV-stable and shrugs off salt air, heavy rain and strong sun without the face lifting or fading. Most exterior Dibond work we fit in Newcastle, Sunderland and the coast is still looking sharp 7-10 years on, which is why fascia and long-term site work defaults to it.
Against Foamex, the difference is simple: Foamex is a compressed PVC foam board โ lighter and cheaper, ideal indoors and for short-term use, but it can bow on large exterior panels over time. For anything facing the weather long-term, Dibond is the safe choice; see our Foamex signs page for where the cheaper board genuinely wins.
Standard Dibond panels come in white, black and silver-brush as stock finishes, ready for vinyl lettering or full digital print. We print Dibond with UV-cured inks under an anti-scratch laminate, so colours stay stable outdoors, and we can fold panels into trays, rout them into shapes, or drill and prepare them for whatever fixings your wall needs. Panels can be supplied fitted by our installers or ready-made for your own contractor.
Three generations of North East sign making โ we know which panel suits which wall.

Dibond is one of the longest-lasting panel materials we use โ typically 7-10 years outdoors, often longer. It is rust-proof, UV-stable and unaffected by salt air, heavy rain or frost.
